Room for the whole family, and the food you actually want
Four hundred seated, a stage for the entrance, a dance floor that stays clear, and no rule about who cooks. For a lot of families that last part is the reason they stop looking.
Why big family parties end up here
A quinceañera for three hundred is a difficult booking in this city. Most venues that hold that many will only serve their own food, and the per head minimum on top of the room can double the number before you have hired a DJ.
Here the room is the room and the food is your business. Bring your caterer, your tía, or the restaurant that has done every family event for fifteen years. We keep no preferred list, take no commission, and there is no minimum spend on food or drink.
The Grand Hall seats four hundred with tables and chairs and still leaves floor for dancing. There is a permanent stage at one end, which is where the court usually enters from and where the DJ or the band sets up.
What a Saturday actually costs
- $4,800 for the Grand Hall for twelve hours on a Saturday, or $3,100 for six.
- $3,600 for twelve hours Sunday through Friday, or $2,400 for six. A Friday night saves you real money.
- Tables and chairs included, up to four hundred chairs and a hundred tables. Linens are the one thing you hire separately.
- No food or beverage minimum, so the rental figure is close to the real figure.
- Sixty five parking spots on our own lot, and the whole lot is yours if you take all three rooms.
Decorating, and the short list of things we ask
Decorate as much as you want. People bring drape, uplighting, backdrops, centrepieces and balloon arches, and the room takes all of it.
The rules are short and they exist because of the floor. No confetti, which works its way into hundred year old floorboards and never fully comes out. No nails, staples, thumb tacks or glitter. No duct, masking or mounting tape. No mylar or foil balloons. Candles are fine with prior approval, and all decorations need approving before you set up, which in practice is a two minute conversation.
Everything you brought in goes home the same night. If a vendor needs to collect the following day, tell us in advance because there may be a fee and there may be another event in the room.
Setting up the tables and chairs is yours unless you would rather it was not. We will set the Grand Hall for $300 or the Council Room for $150. Putting the furniture away afterwards is ours either way, so nobody in your family is stacking chairs at midnight. We just ask that the tables are cleared of trash and the room is left as clean as you can manage.
Smaller celebrations
Not every party needs four hundred seats. The Council Room holds a hundred and is the usual pick for baby and bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, birthdays and retirement lunches. It runs from $750 for six hours on a weekday.
The Bar Lounge downstairs seats fifty, comes already furnished, and has its own bar and a jukebox. It works well for a milestone birthday, a game watch party or drinks for thirty.
Both are on the lower level and reached by stairs. There is no elevator in the building, so if anyone you are inviting cannot manage steps, book the Grand Hall upstairs instead.
