What comes with the room
The furniture is included, which is worth saying plainly because at a lot of venues it is not. You get up to fifty five foot round tables, twenty six foot rectangular tables, thirty eight foot rectangular tables, and up to four hundred black banquet chairs.
The room is cleaned before you arrive, and we put out trash drums and liners and take the waste out through the night. One bartender is included for up to five hours of event time.
Putting the tables and chairs out is your job, not ours. That is how the rental is priced. If you would rather we did it, room set up is $300 for the Grand Hall and needs arranging in advance.
Linens and chair covers are not included. Most people rent those from a third party, and any of the local companies can deliver here.
Setting up is yours, unless you would rather it was not
Your rental block includes your set up and tear down time, so the clock starts when you walk in and stops when the last person leaves. You are responsible for arranging tables and chairs and for putting up decorations. If you would rather not, we will set the room for $300.
At the other end, putting the tables and chairs away is ours. What we ask is that the tables are cleared of trash and the room is left as clean as you can reasonably manage before your guests leave, and that your decorations go home with you the same night.
What a Saturday in here actually looks like
Three hundred people at round tables with a dance floor in the middle. A quinceañera with the court coming down the length of the room. A gala with a stage set and a podium. A touring theatre company playing to a full house with the balcony open.
Your caterer cooks. Our bar pours.
Bring whichever caterer you like. We keep no preferred list, take no commission, and set no food or beverage minimum. The one condition is that they prepare off site and arrive with the food ready to serve, because our kitchen is a staging area rather than a working kitchen.
Alcohol is the exception. All drink is served through our bar, and outside alcohol is not permitted anywhere on the property including the parking lot. A cash bar is the default. You can also prepay an open bar at $20 a head for beer and wine or $30 a head for beer, wine and liquor, and a fifteen percent gratuity applies to prepaid and tab arrangements. If there is a particular beer or wine you want, tell us and we will go and get it.
What to know before you book this room
The Grand Hall is on the main floor and is wheelchair accessible, and so are the main floor restrooms. If your event is in this room, a guest using a wheelchair can get in, move around and use the facilities without needing help.
What is not accessible is the lower level. There is no elevator in the building, so the Council Room and the Bar Lounge are reachable only by stairs. If part of your day was going to happen downstairs, plan it for the main floor instead.
We would rather you knew that now than found out on the day of your daughter's wedding. If accessibility matters for your guest list, call and talk it through with Jacob before you put a deposit down.
Walk the floor before you commit
Photographs flatten a room this size. Twenty minutes standing in it tells you more than an hour of scrolling.
